SUMMARY

Twelve a cappella voices will sing the most beautiful pages of the Eton Choirbook, recalling the splendor of its exquisite illuminations. The Eton Choirbook miraculously survived the monastery desecrations ordered by Henry VIII to establish the Anglican Reformation, preserving a significant portion of England’s sacred music from the 15th century. Its magnificent scores evoke the atmosphere and spirit of the cathedrals, chapels, and monasteries for which they were intended, while figures, animals, and various objects inhabit its illuminated initials like symbols and allusions…
