Selected works, either anonymous or by Dowland, Lambert, Monteverdi, Machaut, and Purcell, skilfully brought together to reflect on the universal and timeless nature of love set to music—whether putting an emphasis on beauty, desire, and pleasure, or on sorrow and tears… All presented in an accessible way that goes back thousands of years: with voice and plucked strings.
